I am a college student, and as such I think it is safe for me to say that, when combined, those two words have many synonyms. Example: poor, stressed and master procrastinator.
I would like to say that I am particularly gifted in that last area.
(please note: I would like to add the word "Inventor" to my list of synonyms. My roommate is attempting to have our waffle maker double as a George Foreman. I'll let you know how that goes.)
Just this past week, for example, I found myself, on the last day my test was open, having not studied at all. There was, of course, the late day, but I try to pretend they don't exist so as not to cost myself too much money (please refer to synonym #1). So here I was, at 4:00 on the last day, having not even opened the book. My excuse? I had a Physical Science test a day earlier that had soaked up all of my study time.
It was about 5:00 when I actually sat down to study. But did I start my studying then? Negative.
I blog stalked, and blogged, and pinned, and talked to my roommate.
By the time 5:50 rolled around I had literally only finished one and a half flash cards. But the study mode was kicking in, and I could tell my level of productivity was increasing exponentially.
That is, at least, until my phone started ringing. The second I saw my sister's name on my screen I knew what it was about: she was calling to play the role of procrastination's advocate.
Sure enough.
"Hey Sadie, I was just dropping the girls off at the Taylor Swift concert and there are people selling tickets. If I buy a pair do you wanna come up and go with me?"
And so the dilemma began.
And by that I mean the justification began.
Of course I would go to the concert, but how would I tell my conscience that it was ok?
I'm still now sure I made that one fly, but it definitely had a lot to do with my roommate's words of validation.
Did I go to that concert? Yes. Did I love it? Yes. Did I have any regret? Yes. I wished I would've woken up to my alarm that morning so I could have showered and looked presentable for concert pictures.
But alas, you can't have everything.

One very important thing I am learning in life is that any time I don't wake up to my alarm and get ready I ALWAYS regret it! I am finally (and I'm almost 30) now learning that I shouldn't sleep through that alarm. You never know who you're going to run into at the grocery store or who is going to invite you to lunch or ... A CONCERT! But at least you're a cute girl so that helps!
