Common knowledge, of course.
One book that was published at this time was entitled "Courtly Love"
It was a sort of guideline, if you will, listing the appropriate behaviors for lords, ladies, knights, and dragons. Naturally, the dragons must also know how to act properly when interacting socially. The book went on to give instructions to knights and ladies on the proper way to behave when interacting with the opposite gender.
The list is as follows:
-Marriage is no real excuse for not loving
-No one should be deprived of love without the very best of reasons
-When made public, love rarely endures-
-The easy attainment of love makes it of little value; difficulty of attainment makes it prized.
-Every lover regularly turns pale in the presence of his beloved.
-When a lover suddenly catches sight of his beloved, his heart palpitates.
-Good character alone makes any man worthy of love.
-Real jealously always increases the feeling of love.
-He, who the thought of love vexes, eats and sleeps very little.
-Love can deny nothing to love.
-A man who is vexed by too much passion usually does not love.
So, my friends, I invite you all to take a step back and evaluate your love life based on this Arthurian legend.
Feel free to share with me your success stories, as I am sure these guidelines could never lead to failure :)

I like the rule about love that's difficult to attain being prized. Better be true...
