Not just the socially awkward.

One thing in my life that is getting a little bit old is the reaction people have when I say I want to homeschool. "But homeschoolers are freaks!" they say. Gee, thanks. "But then your kids will have no social skills at all!" they also say. To this I feel like responding, "I was homeschooled, I am not socially awkward" ... but I don't think that I can honestly say that. However, I also do not think that homeschooling is what made me socially awkward. It is not like I was homeschooled the whole way, I started in eight grade and it was a part-time thing, I was at the actual high school every single day. I am just really bad at small talk, and I was just born that way. So, in defense of homeschool people everywhere, here is a list of people who were are Jewish ... just like you and me! David Lee roth, Lights the menorah, so do James Caan, Kirk Douglas, and the late Dinah Shore-ah. Guess who eats together at the Carnegie Deli? Bowser from Sha Na Na and Arthur Fonzerelli. Paul Newman’s half Jewish, Goldie Hawn’s half too, put them together, what a fine lookin’ Jew!

Ok. Adam Sandler quotes are stopping now. Did you know he has a daughter named Sadie? Yup, true story. Anyway, homeschooled people.

Next time you are sitting in your dorm room attempting to write a paper on family routines and rituals but find that you cannot come with anything good to say for the life of you, you should read Marc Olivier's biography. Quite possibly the most enjoyable thing I've ever read.
