It is official. I am blonde. I just threw away Sarah's trash can.
It was a normal day in the lives of Sadie and Sarah, a peaceful Saturday with not much going on. The only problem was their less-than sanitary dorm room. While in the process of cleaning, Sarah asked Sadie to help her take out the trash. It is a sad, sad, thing when so much trash has accumulated that two people are needed to carry it. But, Sadie obliged, and they made the trek out to the dumpster. On the way back in, Sarah turned to Sadie and asked where her trash can had gone? Sadie was confused, and could not for the life of her remember what had happened to the trash can. After a moment of confusion, they decided to check the dumpster, and, to their entertainment, there sat the trash can. Unfortunately, the dumpster was not very full and they had to get a chair from their lobby to help them reach it. It must have been entertaining for the people walking by.
For the next seven weeks I am taking part in a tutoring program called TOPS. Every Monday I go to a local elementary school and help kids with their homework after school and I love it. Today was my third week and I spent the hour helping the kindergarten children write their 'Z's and reading stories to those who had finished early. I am now familiar with the story Ms. Mary Mack Mack Mack and even know the song that goes with it :) Anyway, as I was helping Erick count the pennies and dimes on his paper, Andrew turns to me and says, "When I get home I'm going to google a reader's digest article." Hearing this sentence coming from the mouth of a five year old was quite possibly the oddest thing that has ever happened to me. I didn't even know what Goggle was until I was in 6th grade, but I didn't really understand it until I was like fourteen. I guess I always knew what reader's digest was, but I had never actually read it until a few month ago when a friend handed one to me and said the article would make me laugh. Kids these days.
