Roses are red

violets are blue, I'm moving out, how about you?

...and that is why I am not a poet.

I do believe that it is time for a trip to the craft store. There are just one to many things on the list to make this that I do not have.

Over the course of my long life, there have been two things which I find myself pondering often. First, my wedding day. Everything from the flowers, to the colors, to the reception set up, to the dress and last but not least, to the groom. My most recent color theme thoughts are turquoise and light pink. Don't scoff, and please do not google image turquoise and pink...because the results are not pretty. However, the image in my mind is beautiful.

The second thing I find myself thinking about it dorm rooms. This started around 4th grade when Emily and Elizabeth made me into an only child by heading off to BYU. I remember Cory's bed had so many pictures, it was so fun. I would rest (note my clever way of avoiding the word lay/lie) on my bed at night and think about my dorm room and my roommates. At the time I thought the perfect roommates would be RAP, Becca, Brittany, Tawni, and Hailey. Wow, times change.

Anyway, I have always pictured bright, lively, colorful scenes involving PB teen accessories and fun posters. (somewhere in my mind there is also a picture of girls wearing bright polka-dot pj's and painting their toe nails, not sure where that mental picture comes from...) In fact, my first thought after finding out where I would be living next year was, well, horror. I didn't want helaman, I wanted heritage! However, after I got over the horror and just accepted it, my first thought was what I could get that would match my bed spread and bring in mucho amounts of color. Ever since that time I have been spending my spare moments looking online for fun things to decorate with. I have spent so much time doing this, in fact, that my bookmarks toolbar has an entire 'dorm' bookmark.

So yesterday when my mother and I went birthday shopping it was an odd experience. This year everything on my list is dorm-related, and it was very odd to finally be buying the items I have been dreaming about for so long. It definitely made the whole prospect of moving out seem more real.

And now I must go do homework. Dad and Dan are in Canada this week, so mom and I are watching Pride and Prejudice. We watched half last night, and are going to finish tonight. Tomorrow, you see, is my last night as a kid. I am not sure yet how I am going to spend this monumental night, but I am going to have to make it big.

  1. That paper rose is pretty cool. Also while you and mom were watching Pride and Prejudice I was reading the new and improved version, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Everything is better when you add zombies. (Except real life.)

  2. YES!
Dan! I have no words for how incredibly in awe I am of you.

  3. I protest your claims regarding my character, Mrs. Watson. The enjoyment of literature and moving-pictures regarding the undead menace is quite widespread among gentlemen and ladies across England and the colonies both. One need only consult the Inter-Net site Amazon dot com for irrefutable evidence in support of my position.

  4. "He scarcely needed an invitation to stay for supper; and before he went away, an engagement was formed, chiefly through his own and Mrs. Bennet's means, for his coming next morning to shoot the first autumn zombies with her husband."

    See? It's GREAT!
