I quite like to read, and I thought I would share some of my favorite books with you.
-The Glass Castle
This book, whatever you may think, is not fantasy, it's actually a memoir. After reading this book you will never look at life quite the same again.
-Anne of Green Gables
This is one a classic because it is really really good, not just because teachers have their students read it. Go on, be a kindred spirit. Pick it up next time your at your local Borders.
-211 Things a Clever Girl Can Do
This book is more like Chicken Soup, not so much a sit down and read for hours book. It is just what the title says, a list of 211 things every girl should know how to do, and instructions on how to do them. Advice given includes how to get a spider out of the bathtub, how to dig a latrine, how to ride an ostrich with elegance and grace, how to survive an airplane crash, and much much more. I find myself laughing out loud every time I pick this book up.
-Flipped
The story of a girl who loves a boy, but the boy thinks she is crazy. It shows from her and his point of view, very funny and very cute!
-Star Girl and Love, Star Girl
Every girl of every age should read these books. Star Girl will show you that it's ok to be different. Star Girl has a very good ending, one that doesn't make you want to read the second one. However, it is amazing. These books are easily read in a day, and are ones that you will think about for forever.
-The Green Glass Sea
Very interesting book about a girl living in the camp where they were making the Atom bomb. Historic fiction really isn't usually a personal favorite, but this is a very good book.
-Shipwreck at the bottom of the world
Without a doubt, this is the most amazing true story I've ever read. The book almost looks like a joke, it's huge and has many pictures, but it is an unbelievably amazing story. I think about this book almost daily, and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Read it.
-A Time for Dancing
I love this book with all my heart, might, mind, and soul. Ok, maybe not quite that much, but it's still a good one. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone over the age of 28, however. Not sure why, I just wouldn't. This book is about two best friends, Sam and Jules, and how they deal when they find out that Jules has cancer. Looking at the cover of this book, I was not excited, however, it has become one of my most commonly read books.
-Uglies, Pretties, Specials
Don't judge a book by it's name...seriously. You wont put them down. This series tells the story of Tally, a girl living in a future world. The story reminds me of The Giver, just with a different twist.
-Harry Potter
If you haven't read this, I'm assuming it's because you have something against it. If so, get over it. It is the most well written story I've ever read. It's funny, it has a amazing plot, and you cant help but fall in love with the characters.

Hooray! Thank you SO SO much for giving me book suggestions - I've been needing to find a book to read for a while now! Have you ever read "Veil of Darkness"? Greg Park? AWESOME books if you like the fantasy genre. Amazing. :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Flipped! I read it in a couple of hours.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you really should get a Flickr account. It makes sharing photos a lot easier.
