Polka dots make everything better

Why is this the most precious thing in the world? The idea of a little bug looking out for me is oddly comforting. Is it the polka dots? I'm fairly convinced it's the polka dots.

I mean, if you take the dots off the bug all you have left is a beetle, and beetles are scary. You would never spot a black beetle on the ground and voluntarily pick it up. You wouldn't dress your toddler up as a cockroach for Halloween.

Would you feel differently about cockroaches if they came with chevron stripes?
