Toy Story 4

So I was casually reading this blog post and envying Sierra's celebrity run-ins and discussing them with my coworker. He was sufficiently impressed with the Shia LaBeouf encounter, but he wasn't familiar with Joan Cusack. We get on IMDb to find Joan's info, and I see that her most recent work is listed as "Toy Story 4 (announced)"

Ok, What?? Am I the only one who had no idea that there was going to be a part 4? Am I the only one annoyed about it? I love me some Toy Story as much as the next person except for my roommate Carlie who really loves it, but #3 had the perfect ending, right? I have a daunting feeling that this will be like the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (5th?) Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The first ending was fine. The others got progressively worse until the audience was awkwardly watching through their fingers wondering what went wrong.

Before I let my mind get too far away from me, I did some research.

Good news folks, so far there are only rumors stemming from a BBC interview with Tom Hanks. It went a little something like this:

Reporter: "Will there be a 'Toy Story 4' for [your grand-daughter] to see?"
Tom Hanks: "I think there will be, yeah, I think they're working on it now."

It seems to me like the main character of a movie should have more of an inkling about a sequel, but whatever. Sources are unsure if Hanks was referring to the numerous Toy Story shorts that have been popping up, or if he was legit talking about a full-length feature film.

Can we not ask him? Is there no one to take one for the team and be like Hey, Tom, did ya hear the question right? Are we talking movie or short here?

I guess we're just going to have to wait and see, but I will definitely spend my time praying that this movie stays in rumor form.

  1. Seriously. Let's move on and let them stay with Bonnie and just imagine their happy times... instead of actually sitting through them...

What with Toy Story 1, 2, & 3, Cars 1 & 2, and now Monster University... I'm feeling a little like, um guys! Can we move on now! I totally thought they were announcing a Finding Nemo 2 last time I was at the theater and I wanted to scream "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" but it turned out it was just being released on Blue Ray. Whew!

  2. On the bottom of the "synopsis" page on Toy Story 4, it says something to the extent of, "I have great ideas for this movie, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Pixar should call me." It almost appears as if some random person set up a page and a story line. We hope so anyway.

  3. Ok I am stuck on not knowing who Joan Cusack is. How does that "happen?"

  4. I wonder how they will make a Toy Story 4 with how it ended. I'm sure Disney will do a great job though. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried at the end of Toy Story 3
