I found the following in an old journal entry: "Today I was writing a paper in the library. I put my headphones in and opened up pandora. The page took a minute to load, and when it did I jumped and looked around to see other's reactions to the sudden, loud, classical music."
I am glad that I thought to record that moment of my life.
It really bugs me when a book is turned into a movie, and they begin printing the book with the movie poster as the cover. Example. What gets me even more is when a book is written simply to be turned into a movie. Example. Seriously? Why not just sell the script?
And while we're on the topic, can we talk about Nicholas Sparks? I'll admit, I'm a fan of A Walk to Remember, but that's about where it ends. The Notebook? Seriously? That is a blog post in itself. Seventeen year old girl falls in lust one summer, then moves and grows up, finds good man who she loves and is engaged to, goes back and sleeps with her lust, and then marries him. That's a good life lesson for ya.
And the rest of them? I'm pretty sure we could sum them all up right here, right now: two unlikely loves, one rebellious and the other overly committed to community service and the like. Someone standing in the way, like a jealous ex-girlfriend or a disapproving family member. Then someone dies, and everyone ends up learning a great lesson.
Also, is anyone else seeing the similarities in these movie posters? Time to get a new designer, my friend, time to get a new designer.
As a matter of interest, in trying to "copy image address" of the movie posters, I accidentally set it as my desktop background. I think I'll keep it for entertainment purposes.
Yesterday an episode of 24 gave me minor heart failure. In the middle of a high-intensity scene they put a jumpy moment, and before my heart rate had the opportunity to return to normal they put another jumpy moment. I honestly think I jumped a few inches off my bed, and I had no idea my heart could beat that fast while my entire body was so tense. I should probably not watch so much 24.
On that note, I have some amazing neighbors who, well, have a done a whole lot for me over the past 14 years we have lived here. Just before my surgery she brought over the first season of 24 on DVD, and has now informed me that I can borrow seasons 2-5 as well. This is very kind of her, but I'm a little embarrassed by how quickly I'm getting trough the seasons.
Just in case you were wondering, I have 1-2 weeks left with one crutch. I can walk without it, but my limp is so bad it's almost comical. Almost.
The good news? My brother and his family just got here, I haven't seen them in about two years and I have a new niece to meet :) I had no idea they were getting here today, so I am now going to go socialize.
I tell you this A) so you can be excited for me an B) so you can understand why this blog post is so pointless. My normal blogging experience is writing everything that is on my mind, then going back and running with the most interesting. I don't have time to do that right now as I work in 30 minutes and want to talk to my family.
I'm also not proof reading.
Sorry about it.
