I don't know if they know it or not, but everyone else here should be jealous of my rooming situation. I'd be willing to put down money on the fact that in no other room do the girls get along as well as us.
Different stories, opinions, outlooks, humors, interests, and talents. Yet together we are amazing.
There's the one with the agenda who keeps us getting things done.
The one who wants to meet everyone, who keeps us getting involved.
The one who says it like it is and always keeps us real.
The one who always listens until she gets who you really are.
The one with resounding goodness who really believes it's gonna be okay.
The one who's not sure what she wants, but knows exactly who she is.
The one whose words of wisdom calm our every fear.
The one who willingly loses herself for the service of others.
The one who's always open and makes you comfortable being yourself.
yeah... poetry was not my intention, but the roommates got involved and there was no stopping it from there.
We just have this amazing bond of openness. As we were sitting on our beds figuring the best wording for the stanzas above, a fellow Jerusalem student came in and said:
"You guys have a really nice room, it just feels so homey!"
She's right. The other night I was sitting in the lobby that my bedroom door leads to when I heard loud singing coming from my room. I laughed as another girl said "they're a little louder tonight than usual!" I couldn't help but be proud that those were my roommates, my Jerusalem family having that much fun in each other's company.
From the spiritual, to the academic, to the little bit too personal, we've covered it all with no reservations.
Ladies, just know that I love you. You mean more to me than the nutella on my pita :)
