One of those days...

Today is one of those "hey I want to be an interior designer" kinda days. So the obvious course of action was to look up pictures of fun-ly designed rooms.

Such cute rooms.

I want to have a cool wall!!

I want to have cool lights and green walls!!
(note that I have that bed cover)

In my American Heritage class we are assigned to watch three movies throughout the semester, and today they were showing Glory. It was one of those horrible kinds of movies that leave you thinking "was there ever a time when I felt good about my life?" It reminded me of Man in the Moon, which happens to be number one my list of movies I would never suggest to anyone ever, right next to White Oleander and The Ring. The movie itself wasn't that bad, it had a plot and was easy to follow, but in the end, everyone died. Almost literally. And the people whose side we were on the whole time ended up losing the battle, along with losing all of their men. The most unfortunate part is that it was a true story. Seriously? Is war really necessary? I just do not understand why people find it necessary to kill people. It just made me sad that people really have no other way to settle their disputes.

I went to the doctor today -I have hip dysplasia, just in case you didn't know-. I didn't really know what for, I just thought I was getting some sort of testing done. Wrong. I was getting an injection. I found this quite bothersome. I have a great fear of needles, and I would have liked to have had some mental prep time. I couldn't help but think of last time I had a needle stuck in me, which just happened to be the most painful experience of my life.

So they took me into the room and laid me down on the table. Then they moved this x-ray thing over me so we could see my hip, which the doctor informed me looked like it had cross-over. I don't exactly know what that means, so I just kinda nodded and tried to look interested/concerned/not confused. The numbing needle hurt just a little bit, but needle number two was painless. I was a little bit freaked out, however. On the x-ray you could see the needle, and I was a bit uncomfortable with how far into my side it was progressing. I ended up just closing my eyes. Now, a good number of hours later, my hip is really starting to hurt, as they said it would. I was told that a simple pain killer would work, and I am praying it kicks in soon. Who knew having steroids shot into your hip could hurt so badly hours after it happened??

But the good news is that I officially have my first hip-related hospital bracelet. The first of at least four. I find this quite exciting. So exciting, in fact, that it now has a place on my bulletin board.

And now I am off to study for a Book of Mormon exam that I fully intend to ace.
